I have recently read a book by Meg Cabot called All American Girl. I got this book from Amazon.co.uk for about £4 and i wasn't expecting it to be excellent, just a little thing that i could read whilst on the beach on holiday. The book stars a girl called Sam, she's the protagonist. She has a sister called Lucy who she is very jealous of, mainly because of her lovely hair and her stunning looks, but mainly because of her boyfriend Jack who Sam thinks she's in love with. Sam also has a younger sister called Rebecca, who is a very intelligent and goes to gifted school.
Because she got a C- in German, she was sent to Susan Boones, a woman who has a art class. In the class Sam meets a cute boy David who admires her boots that's she wearing. Of course she sooner later realises that he's the President's son, the President whose life she saved by jumping on the back of someone who was about to shoot him.
After saving the President she automatically becomes a celebrity and everyone loves her, even the people that before hated her at school. At the end of the book though she finds out that Jack, her so-she-though soul mate, she doesn't actually like and she actually likes David instead.
This book is not a book you can put down, you just want to keep reading to see what's going to happen next. This is a lovely teen love book, and i am looking forward to reading the next book, All American Girl: Ready Or Not. I really love how Cobalt wrote about a different girl who likes different bands and kinds of music and is really involved in the problems of the world, rather than a stunning, popular girl.
