A quick chat about Pottermore.

Although still waiting for my email, I have been doing some research on Pottermore and have a pretty good gasp on it. I am going to share to you some thoughts on it.

One of the things most of the Pottermore users are most excited about is getting their wand. You go through a series of questions asking you about yourself. eg. Eye colour, birthday, height. Then Ollivander gives you you're wand matched to your personality. This is on chapter 5.

Then when you get to chapter 7, one of the most exciting parts of Pottermore is getting sorted into your house. J.k. Rowling has made over 200 questions, and you will be asked a handful. Questions such as, what would you rather be known as? heads or tales? left or right? J.K has made these questions so that you can't cheat to get into the house you want to. 

Apart from reading extra stories and information from the books, you can also earn house points for your chosen house! You can do this by dueling (which is down at the moment due to it being fixed), and also brew potions. 

At the moment, round about 300,000 people are in Pottermore and have been sorted, although it is always going up.  For the next two weeks Pottermore will be sending Welcome Emails out daily. At the moment the majority of the emails have gone to people who registered on day three. Pottermore also said each batch that goes out will get bigger and bigger so I think by a week the emails will be going out to Day 4's.

Now onto the houses. Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin.Each house stands for something. Gryffindor is all about bravery. Hufflepuff is about being loyal. Ravenclaw is about knowledge. And Slytherin is about being cunning. I think I belong is Ravenclaw, because I am smart and often very witty. But I also have some traits of Slytherin. I will be happy with whatever house I get into, some I would want to be in more than others, but I'll still be happy because I'll know I'll belong there.


There have been some people going around the internet lately and 'swapping' their accounts for the house that they want to be in. This is not what Pottermore is about. The house you got sorted in is the house that you're meant to be in. Simple as that.
